About The Position

The Radiology Imaging Student Extern builds hands-on experience while learning from experienced team members. The extern contributes to patient care by helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their imaging experience, while supporting technologists and the broader care team. The role includes patient preparation and transport, imaging room setup and turnover, communication, and participation in learning opportunities while following safety and confidentiality standards.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No travel required.
• No required years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for imaging by obtaining histories, verifying identities, and assisting with positioning while communicating clearly and compassionately.
• Safely transport patients between areas and support their comfort and emotional needs during procedures.
• Set up imaging rooms, manage room turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
• Communicate patient needs and concerns promptly to technologists and the care team.
• Participate in learning opportunities and follow safety and confidentiality standards.
