About The Position

Zekelman Industries seeks a Quality Supervisor for its Wheatland Tube Blytheville plant in Blytheville, Arkansas. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role works directly with the Blytheville quality employees and operations and assists in directing, overseeing, and managing the plant’s Quality Department. The position also provides technical assistance to other departments, supports quality and technical groups at other facilities producing structural tubing, serves as the company’s technical representative for external complaints, determines steel grade requirements with suppliers, and develops and implements quality policies for Wheatland Tube Blytheville. The primary shift is days, but the supervisor must be able to work across all shifts as required. Travel is required as needed.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience working in the quality field in a Supervisor or higher role.
Ability to review and understand product specifications and standards.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong computer skills.
Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to flex across shifts as required.
Ability to travel as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with a quality system such as ISO 9001.
Experience with NDE inspection.
Experience with API products.

Responsibilities

Lead the Quality Group in support of the Quality Manager.
Cover for the site Quality Manager and Quality Leads during vacations.
Ensure the laboratory and equipment are in good condition and that calibration is performed.
Back up and support inline NDT.
Work across all shifts as required; the primary shift is days.
Ensure inspections are completed as required.
Review and complete dispositions for nonconforming material and schedule rework.
Assist in maintaining the quality management system.
Liaise with customers regarding quality issues and product information.
Liaise with the sales team regarding product information.
Provide position-related training to quality employees.
Assist shipping with inspections as needed.
Travel as required.
Lead and promote health and safety work practices in accordance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
Provide technical assistance to other departments as required.
Support quality and technical groups at other facilities producing structural tubing.
Act as the company’s technical representative on external complaints.
Determine steel grade requirements with suppliers.
Develop and implement quality policies for Wheatland Tube Blytheville.
