About The Position

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist creates and maintains vendor relationships to obtain materials, goods, and services efficiently and economically for Meyers' manufacturing operations. The role monitors appropriate inventory levels to ensure all necessary materials are available for production jobs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of related experience.
• Thorough understanding of litho, flexo, and digital printing processes, materials, and supplies.
• Working knowledge of PC applications and inventory systems.
• Extensive knowledge of printing stock performance and products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor's college degree strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage vendor relationships and interactions, and stay up to date on new materials, material changes, and industry trends.
• Submit and monitor supplier NCRs, verify that proper credits are received, and ensure they are processed promptly.
• Work with the Director of Supply Chain to complete supplier evaluations based on predetermined KPIs.
• Issue purchase orders or credit card orders for production, technical services, and corporate office needs.
• Determine material lead times and availability, and prioritize orders to meet production timelines.
• Work closely with scheduling and raw-material suppliers to ensure just-in-time delivery of inbound materials.
• Document and communicate estimated cost overruns to necessary stakeholders.
• Participate in physical inventory counts at month-end and fiscal year-end.
• Create new perpetual inventory items as needed and approved.
