About The Position

UnityPoint Clinic is seeking a Pulmonary/Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join its team in Rock Island, Illinois, and Bettendorf, Iowa. The role works closely with physicians and nurses to manage critically ill patients in the hospital and support the expansion of the critical care program. Providers work in the ICU, with clinics located at both hospital campuses, and use the integrated Epic electronic medical record system to support care coordination. Multiple shift options are available, including days, nights, and weekends, with 12-hour shifts. The average census is 12–14 patients per shift.

Requirements

• Prior ICU and/or critical care experience as an advanced practitioner and/or nurse is preferred.
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in Iowa and Illinois.
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as appropriate to the advanced practitioner’s field of practice.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively manage critically ill patients in the ICU and perform essential procedures such as intubations.
• Participate actively in daily ICU rounds.
• Coordinate care and communicate patient goals and treatment plans with intensivists, hospitalists, consulting physicians, and ICU nurses.
• Work with the critical care team to coordinate care among attending physicians, subspecialists, and nursing staff.
• Maintain continuity of care through handoff communication between providers and physicians across shifts.
• Work as a team member to improve the health of patients and the communities served.
