About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT), a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit, is hiring full-time EMT-Basics for its Quad Cities market. The role provides care during emergency response situations, interfacility transports, and standby events. The home base is in Milan, Illinois, and the position works 12-hour shifts in the Quad Cities area. Full-time employees typically work a 36-hour week and a 48-hour week in each two-week pay period. Shift bids take place twice annually.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current Illinois EMT license.
Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
Valid Illinois driver's license.
Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds, subject to physical examination.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care according to established policies and procedures.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in a stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an emergency care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care.
Provide emergency care using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient rights while providing care.
Transport patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment according to vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.
Operate and drive an ambulance in accordance with applicable safety policies and laws.
Assist paramedics during advanced life support situations.
Maintain current certifications as required by governing licensure.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Present and promote a positive company image.
