About The Position

AlphaGov is engaging an experienced Public Safety CAD/RMS Systems Consultant for project-based work. The current project supports a university police department replacing its computer-aided dispatch, records management, and mobile field reporting systems with an integrated solution. The consultant will help document operational workflows and requirements, assess systems and integrations, plan data conversion and CJIS-compliant hosting, and support implementation through go-live.

Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. Scope, schedule, and fee are confirmed with the consultant before an engagement begins. With the consultant’s authorization, AlphaGov may identify them as an expert collaborator or key personnel on relevant proposals and request qualifications and past-performance narrative contributions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience implementing or managing public safety CAD and RMS systems.
• Knowledge of the CJIS Security Policy and NIBRS reporting.
• Experience with law enforcement or emergency communications operations.
• Comfortable working as a 1099 project-based consultant.

Nice To Haves

• Campus or university police experience.
• Experience with major CAD/RMS vendors, including Tyler, Motorola, Hexagon, or CentralSquare.
• Former dispatcher, records supervisor, or public safety IT lead.

Responsibilities

• Document dispatch, records, and field reporting workflows and requirements.
• Evaluate CAD/RMS/mobile solutions and integrations, including NCIC/state systems and NIBRS reporting.
• Plan data conversion, interfaces, and CJIS-compliant hosting.
• Support implementation, testing, training, and go-live.
• Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when authorized to be named.
