About The Position
The University of Ottawa is seeking a Part-Time Professor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach ESL 130: Academic Enhancement in English. This course focuses on refining reading and listening skills, improving critical thinking, and developing self-correction strategies in speaking and writing through activities such as debates, oral presentations, summaries, and academic essays. The position is located at the Main Campus and requires in-person instruction. The hiring process will be governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements.
Requirements
- Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline.
- Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level.
- Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
- Experience with team-teaching.
- TESL Certification or equivalent.
- Ability to complete all mandatory legislated training.
- Proficiency in English (language of instruction).

Responsibilities
