APTPUO: Fall 2026 - PT Professor (6-hour): ESL 120 F200
About The Position
This position is for a Part-Time Professor teaching ESL 120: Academic Development in English during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Main Campus. The course focuses on building students' skills in understanding longer listening and reading passages, and introducing them to academic oral presentations and paragraph writing using various organizational patterns. The course is offered exclusively on campus and requires in-person instruction. Professors teaching the same section mutually agree upon teaching schedules, but the unit reserves the right to select teaching days if there are conflicts or limited sections.
Requirements
- Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline.
- Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level.
- Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
- Experience with team-teaching.
- TESL Certification or equivalent.
- Ability to complete all mandatory legislated training.

- An acceptable level of education/experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Responsibilities
