About The Position

KM Engineering is seeking a highly organized and motivated Proposal & Business Development Coordinator to lead and coordinate the proposal process while supporting business development, marketing, and client relationship efforts. The position works closely with principals, project managers, and technical staff to develop proposals, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), RFQs/RFPs, and bid packages for public- and private-sector clients. The coordinator manages deadlines and workflows, gathers and organizes technical content, maintains proposal resources, tracks opportunities, and improves the systems and technology used throughout the proposal process. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator who is detail-oriented, technically savvy, self-directed, and comfortable coordinating multiple people and priorities. Experience in civil engineering or the broader architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is strongly preferred. The role also calls for a collaborative, team-oriented person willing to help beyond their primary responsibilities and contribute to the overall success of the business. The position is focused approximately 60% on proposal development and coordination, 20% on business development, and 20% on marketing and communications support. Success means adapting quickly to existing systems and standards while improving the proposal process, enabling principals and technical staff to focus on technical strategy, project approach, client relationships, and final review.
