About The Position

Lakes Gas is hiring a local-route propane delivery driver with a Class B CDL. The driver delivers propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-class customer service. The position is home every night and involves working outdoors in all weather conditions. Additional duties include maintaining company and customer equipment and performing plant maintenance activities. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, subject to the stated eligibility and payout terms.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements, without air brake restrictions.
• Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
• Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
• Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Safety-conscious and customer-service-oriented.
• Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good driving skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, pull delivery hose, and bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
• Provide first-class customer service.
• Maintain and upkeep company and customer equipment.
• Perform plant maintenance activities.
• Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor about needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Complete DOT hazmat training and maintenance every three years.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT requirements.
• Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
