Propane Delivery Driver (CDL B) - Hiring Bonus
About The Position
Lakes Gas is hiring a local-route Propane Delivery Driver with a Class B CDL. The role delivers propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-class customer service. Drivers are home every night and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Additional duties include maintaining company and customer equipment and performing plant maintenance activities. The position requires a safety-conscious driver with strong mechanical aptitude and good driving skills. The driver must maintain compliance with DOT requirements, inspect the vehicle, and notify a supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance. The position also involves filling, loading, securing, and delivering propane cylinders or bulk propane. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered: $1,000 after three months of employment and achieving at least a Class B license with tanker and hazardous-materials endorsements, followed by $2,000 after successfully completing six months. The employee must be employed and in good standing at each payout. A full benefits package is available.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements; no air brake restrictions.
- Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
- Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Safety-conscious and customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, pull delivery hose, and bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
- Provide first-class customer service.
- Maintain company and customer equipment and participate in plant maintenance activities.
- Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
- Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
- Maintain compliance with DOT requirements, including completing DOT Hazmat training and maintenance every three years.
- Operate and maintain handheld tablets.
