Propane Delivery Driver (CDL B) - Hiring Bonus
About The Position
Lakes Gas is hiring a local-route Propane Delivery Driver with a Class B CDL. The position delivers propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-class customer service. Drivers are home every night. The role also includes maintaining company and customer equipment and performing plant maintenance activities. Work takes place outdoors in all weather conditions. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, paid in two installments: $1,000 after three months of employment and achieving at least a Class B license with tanker and hazardous endorsements, and an additional $2,000 after successfully completing six months of employment. The employee must be employed and in good standing at payout to qualify. Lakes Gas is a family-owned propane provider with more than 65 years of operation and more than 60 locations. The company describes its locations as having a small-town, local feel.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements, without air brake restrictions.
- Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
- Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Safety-conscious and customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.
- DOT hazmat training and maintenance every three years.
- Maintain compliance with all DOT requirements.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, pull a delivery hose, and bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
- Provide first-class customer service.
- Maintain and upkeep company and customer equipment.
- Perform plant maintenance activities.
- Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
- Comply with DOT requirements, including completing DOT hazmat training and maintenance every three years.
- Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
- Operate and maintain handheld tablets.
