About The Position

Lakes Gas is hiring a local-route delivery driver to deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial locations while providing first-class customer service. The position is home every night and involves maintaining company and customer equipment, performing plant maintenance activities, and inspecting the vehicle and reporting equipment, supply, or routine-maintenance needs. The role requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and compliance with DOT requirements, including recurring Hazmat training and maintenance. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments, subject to employment, license, and good-standing conditions. New DOT drivers start at $25 to $27 per hour.

Requirements

Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements; no air brake restrictions.
Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Safety-conscious and customer-service-oriented approach.
Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, pull a delivery hose, and bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed.

Responsibilities

Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
Provide first-class customer service.
Maintain and care for company and customer equipment.
Perform plant maintenance activities.
Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
Operate and maintain handheld tablets.
Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
Maintain compliance with DOT requirements, including Hazmat training and maintenance every three years.

Benefits
