About The Position

Lakes Gas is hiring a local-route Propane Delivery Driver to deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-class customer service. This Class B CDL position offers a local route and employees are home every night. The driver also helps maintain company and customer equipment and performs plant maintenance activities. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physical tasks including lifting, pulling delivery hose, bending, climbing, reaching, and rotating. New DOT drivers start at $24–$26 per hour. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered in installments, subject to employment and qualification terms. Lakes Gas is a family-owned propane provider with more than 65 years in business and over 60 locations.

Requirements

Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements, without air brake restrictions.
Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Safety-conscious and customer-service-oriented approach.
Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, pull delivery hose, and bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed.

Responsibilities

Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
Provide first-class customer service.
Maintain and upkeep company and customer equipment.
Perform plant maintenance activities.
Operate and maintain handheld tablets.
Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
Maintain compliance with DOT requirements and complete DOT Hazmat training and maintenance every three years.

Benefits

$3,000 sign-on bonus: $1,000 after three months of employment and attaining at least a Class B license with Tanker and Hazardous endorsements; an additional $2,000 after successfully completing six months of employment. Must be employed and in good standing at payout.
