Propane Delivery Driver (CDL B) - Hiring Bonus
About The Position
Lakes Gas is hiring a full-time, local-route Propane Delivery Driver with a Class B CDL. The driver delivers propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-class customer service. The role includes maintaining company and customer equipment and performing plant maintenance activities. Drivers are home every night and must work outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus: $1,000 after three months of employment and attainment of at least a Class B license with tanker and hazardous-materials endorsements, followed by $2,000 after six months of employment. Employees must remain employed and in good standing at payout to qualify. New DOT drivers start at $30–$33 per hour.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain the required endorsements, without air-brake restrictions.
- Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
- Ability to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Safety-conscious and customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, pull a delivery hose, and bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
- Provide customer service to delivery customers.
- Maintain and upkeep company and customer equipment.
- Perform plant maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain handheld tablets.
- Inspect the vehicle and notify a supervisor about needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
- Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk propane.
- Maintain compliance with DOT requirements, including recurring DOT Hazmat training and maintenance every three years.
