About The Position

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe, timely delivery of propane to customers. The driver delivers, loads, and unloads propane while providing exceptional customer service and upholding safety standards for propane delivery and handling. The role also involves regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

The hourly rate ranges from $27.00 to $29.00, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates based on industry experience, CDL/Hazmat endorsements, and technical expertise. The compensation information is a general guideline; pay is based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, geographical location, and market and business considerations. The position may be eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of delivery driver experience.
• CDL Class A or B.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane to and from customer containers, including bulk trucks, tanks, and cylinders.
• Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
• Use available technology to monitor and track propane inventory transfers, tank levels, and container sizing.
• Accurately record and print customer delivery tickets for delivered product.
• Accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to high safety standards and report mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher.
• Conduct and, where applicable, document pre- and post-vehicle inspections, site inspections, and visual tank inspections.
• Coordinate frequently with the Dispatcher regarding routing and scheduling.
• Immediately notify the Dispatcher about product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues and obtain guidance on resolving them.
• Work overtime when business needs require it.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
