About The Position

The Propane Bobtail Driver safely and promptly delivers propane to customers. The role involves delivering, loading, and unloading propane while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high safety standards in the delivery and handling of propane. Drivers conduct regular vehicle and site inspections, maintain equipment, and communicate with dispatch about routing, scheduling, product, customer, and safety issues. Overtime may be required when business needs require it, and drivers must rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of delivery driver experience.
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Willingness to rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane to and from containers, including bulk trucks, tanks, and cylinders.
• Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
• Use available technology to monitor and track propane inventory transfers, tank levels, and container sizing.
• Accurately record and print customer delivery tickets for delivered product.
• Complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to high safety standards and report mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher.
• Conduct and, if applicable, document pre- and post-vehicle inspections, site inspections, and visual tank inspections.
• Coordinate frequently with the Dispatcher regarding routing and scheduling.
• Immediately notify the Dispatcher of product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues and obtain guidance on resolving them.
• Work overtime when required by business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
