Propane Bobtail Driver
About The Position
Hocon Gas is hiring a Propane Bobtail Driver to safely transport and deliver propane while providing professional service to residential and commercial customers. The driver works closely with service technicians, dispatch, and local leadership to support safe, timely operations and strong customer relationships. The role includes onboarding and safety training, ride-alongs to learn delivery routes and procedures, daily vehicle inspections and documentation, and progressively independent deliveries with dispatch and service-team support. Drivers must be prepared to participate in on-call rotations and work extended or after-hours schedules when business needs require.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and pull up to 125 lbs in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to work on-call and outside regular hours when required.
- Commitment to following safety procedures without exception.
Nice To Haves
- Previous truck driving or propane delivery experience.
- Comfort using basic computer systems for logging, inspections, and documentation.
- Experience working directly with residential or commercial customers.
- Familiarity with DOT inspections and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane products safely.
- Follow all federal, state, DOT, and company safety requirements.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and document findings accurately.
- Promptly report vehicle maintenance or equipment needs.
- Provide professional, courteous service at every customer location.
- Work collaboratively with service and dispatch teams to support operational goals.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including extended or after-hours work as business needs require.
- Complete required paperwork and electronic reporting accurately and daily.
- Communicate clearly when schedules change and escalate service needs appropriately.
