About The Position

The Program Manager will lead American Funds Service Group (AFSG) data programs from the business side within AFSG’s Strategic Delivery Office. The role partners with the Enterprise Change Office, Enterprise Data Office, AFSG Technology, and AFSG business areas to translate enterprise and technology initiatives into clear plans, timely decisions, and well-supported transitions for people who rely on AFSG data. The position combines traditional program management with data and reporting fluency. The Program Manager establishes plans, governance, and operating cadence across multiple workstreams, typically leading through influence rather than direct authority. Success is measured by delivered business outcomes and productive users, not simply by completed tasks. The role includes people management and requires experience leading large, multi-team business and technology initiatives, data or reporting programs, and organizational change affecting many business users. Asset management or financial services experience, and experience in a service organization, are preferred.

  • Ability to work alongside agile engineering teams and their backlogs.
  • Understanding of how analytical reporting depends on underlying data, including the ability to trace reports to data sources and explain the distinction between operational and analytical data.
  • Ability to communicate the impact of data and reporting changes to end users.
  • Experience building and running change-management, communication, and readiness plans for changes affecting many business users.
