About The Position

The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law is seeking to hire a tenure-track faculty member to teach the Community Development Clinic, with a start date of July 1, 2027. This position is open to both entry-level and lateral candidates who are interested in joining the Clinical Law Program, the faculty, and the wider university community. The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is a public health, law, and human services university focused on education, research, clinical care, and public service. UMB has over 6,700 students across six professional schools and an interdisciplinary Graduate School. Its downtown Baltimore campus is situated in a vibrant urban environment near government agencies, health institutions, and research partners. The University of Maryland Carey School of Law, one of the oldest law schools in the nation, is known for its innovative programs and its integral role in the Baltimore-Washington legal and business communities. The school aims to develop outstanding legal professionals through excellent teaching in both classroom and clinical settings, preparing them for leadership in law, public service, business, and government. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching and original scholarship, and a genuine interest in active community participation. Candidates must possess a J.D. from an ABA-approved law school or an equivalent degree and be eligible for a U.S. bar license before employment begins. Requirements
