About The Position

The Department of Accounting at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), a Carnegie-classified R2 institution, is seeking outstanding applicants for an Assistant Professor of Accounting position. Requirements

Hold a doctorate in Accounting or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited university, conferred no later than the position start date of August 15, 2027.
Demonstrate disciplinary excellence.

Demonstrate interest and potential to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research and teaching.

Responsibilities

Teach a diverse undergraduate student body across a range of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Contribute to the LMU Core Curriculum, potentially through developing a First-Year Seminar and/or courses incorporating experiential learning for mission.
Engage students as whole persons and pursue scholarly and creative work that promotes justice, equity, and the common good.
Maintain an active program of scholarship.
Teach typical class sizes ranging from 20 to 30 students.
Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.
Mentor students in research.
Contribute to department, college, and university service.
Support the mission of the College of Business Administration and the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education and Sustainable Development Goals.
