Tenure-Track or Lateral Tenured Professor, Environmental Law
About The Position
The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law is seeking to fill up to two tenure-track faculty positions, either entry-level or lateral, to begin on July 1, 2027. The focus of these positions is Environmental Law, with a particular interest in candidates who can teach Property or Business Associations in addition to upper-level environmental law courses. The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is a public health, law, and human services university committed to excellence in education, research, clinical care, and public service. The law school, one of the oldest in the nation, is dedicated to developing outstanding legal professionals through excellent teaching and clinical settings, preparing students for leadership roles in law, public service, business, and government. The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching and original scholarship, and a genuine interest in becoming active members of the law school community.
Requirements
- Hold a J.D. from an American Bar Association-approved law school or an equivalent degree.
- Be eligible to obtain a U.S. bar license before beginning employment.
- Demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching.
- Demonstrate strong potential for original scholarship.
- Have a genuine interest in becoming an active member of the community.
