About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course PED 3544: Éducation spécialisée et soutien à l’apprentissage during the Fall 2026 academic period. The course is offered in a hybrid remote format, alternating between synchronous and asynchronous activities. The course examines the development of the learning person, analyzes academic and social difficulties of students and challenges of giftedness, and reviews situations of disability and exclusion. It also covers the recognition of the rights and needs of these students in pluralistic and inclusive minority contexts, the tools and mechanisms for identifying needs and necessary support measures, and educational and evaluative interventions adapted to the particular needs of students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education.
  • At least one of the following: Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administration within a school board, including two years of implementing the Ontario curriculum at the elementary, middle, or intermediate level with a specialist qualification at the p/m/i level.
  • Current, peer-reviewed research record in the subject matter of the course to be taught.
  • Recent Ph.D. comprehensive examination in the subject matter of the course to be taught.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario context regarding the subject matter of the course to be taught.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Ontario College of Teachers' Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctorate in Education focusing on the evaluation of learning will be given preference.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course PED 3544: Éducation spécialisée et soutien à l’apprentissage.
  • Deliver the course in a hybrid remote format, alternating synchronous and asynchronous activities.
