About The Position

Study of the development of the learning person. Analysis of the academic and social difficulties of students and the challenges of giftedness. Examination of situations of disability and exclusion factors. Recognition of the rights and needs of these students in a pluralistic and inclusive minority context. Examination of the tools and mechanisms for identifying needs and the necessary support measures. Study of educational and evaluative interventions adapted to the particular needs of students.

Requirements

• Master's degree in education required; a doctorate in education will be given preference.
• At least one of the following: Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administration within a school board, including 2 years of implementation of the Ontario curriculum related to the course subject with a specialist qualification for the course subject, or Current and peer-reviewed research record related to the course subject, or Recent Ph.D. comprehensive examination related to the course subject.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum relating to the course subject and of the Ontario Ministry of Education documents relating to the course subject.
• Proven ability to apply the Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics of the Ontario College of Teachers.
• The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above.
