About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Fall 2026 academic period, teaching PED 3544 OV20 - Éducation spécialisée et soutien à l’apprentissage within the Faculty of Education. The course focuses on the study of the learner's development, analysis of academic and social difficulties, challenges of giftedness, situations of disability and exclusion, and the rights and needs of diverse students in inclusive and minority contexts. It also examines tools and mechanisms for identifying needs and necessary support measures, as well as educational and evaluative interventions adapted to students' particular needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education required; a Ph.D. in Education is preferred.
  • At least one of the following: Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administrative experience within a school board, including 2 years of implementing the Ontario curriculum relevant to the course subject with a specialist qualification in the course subject; OR Current and peer-reviewed research record in the course subject; OR Recent Ph.D. comprehensive examination in the course subject.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum relevant to the course subject and Ontario Ministry of Education documents relevant to the course subject.
  • Proven ability to apply the Ontario College of Teachers' Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Ability to complete all mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in Education (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Teach PED 3544 OV20 - Éducation spécialisée et soutien à l’apprentissage.
  • Conduct synchronous online sessions as required by the course schedule.
  • Apply the Norms of Practice and the Code of Ethics of the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
