3RD SHIFT PRODUCTION PACKAGER
About The Position
Smalley is hiring a full-time Production Packager for its Lake Zurich, Illinois location on the 3rd shift. The role inspects and packages products to meet part specifications and customer requirements, including orders with nonstandard packaging instructions. The packager uses necessary scales and equipment, completes paperwork and system entries, and works with other departments as business needs require. The position supports quality, production targets, clear communication, accurate documentation, and an organized and safe workspace. Smalley is a global manufacturer of precision metal formed products, including retaining rings and wave springs, serving industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, energy, robotics, and industrial machinery.
Requirements
- Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Proven experience in production, shipping, distribution, or warehousing.
- Solid understanding of packing and shipping terminology.
- Ability to complete required paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and package products according to part specifications and customer requirements, following direct instructions provided by the customer.
- Complete packaging assignments for orders with nonstandard requirements.
- Operate scales and other equipment needed for the assigned process.
- Complete required paperwork and system input for each product.
- Participate in cross-departmental production work based on business needs.
- Learn and uphold quality standards to support customer satisfaction and work efficiency.
- Work toward specified team and individual production targets.
- Provide complete and accurate documentation when required.
- Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors about all aspects of the job.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized, following Smalley’s 6S process to support safety and productivity.
- Participate in ongoing training, educational meetings, and daily communication meetings.
