2ND SHIFT PRODUCTION PACKAGER
About The Position
Smalley is hiring a full-time Production Packager for its Lake Zurich, Illinois location. The role packages and inspects products according to part specifications and customer requirements, including orders with nonstandard packaging instructions. The employee operates necessary scales and other process equipment, completes paperwork or system entries, and contributes to production across departments as business needs require. The role supports customer satisfaction, efficient production, and a safe, organized workspace by following quality standards and Smalley’s 6S process. The position is on second shift and pays an estimated $19.80–$22.00 per hour. It is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Smalley manufactures precision metal formed products, including retaining rings and wave springs, and serves industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, energy, robotics, and industrial machinery. Requirements
- Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Proven experience in production, shipping, distribution, or warehousing.
- Solid understanding of packing and shipping terminology.
- Ability to complete required paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and package products in compliance with part specifications and customer requirements, following direct customer instructions.
- Complete packaging assignments for orders with nonstandard requirements.
- Operate any scales or other equipment needed for the assigned process.
- Complete required paperwork or system input for each product.
- Participate in cross-departmental production work based on business needs.
- Learn and uphold defined quality standards to support customer satisfaction and efficient work.
- Work toward specified team and individual production targets.
- Provide complete and accurate documentation when required.
- Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors about all aspects of the job.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized by following Smalley’s 6S process.
- Participate in ongoing training, educational meetings, and daily communication meetings.
