1ST SHIFT PRODUCTION PACKAGER
About The Position
Smalley is hiring a full-time Production Packager for its Lake Zurich, Illinois location. This first-shift role packages and inspects products in accordance with part specifications and customer requirements, including orders with nonstandard packaging instructions. The role involves operating scales and other process equipment, completing required paperwork or system entries, and supporting production across departments as business needs require. The Production Packager is expected to uphold quality standards, meet individual and team production targets, communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors, and maintain a clean, organized, safe workspace in accordance with Smalley’s 6S process. The position includes ongoing training and participation in educational and daily communication meetings. The stated salary range is $18.00–$20.00 per hour; the role is bonus and/or incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Proven experience in production, shipping, distribution, or warehousing.
- Solid understanding of packing and shipping terminology.
- Ability to complete required paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and package products according to part specifications and customer requirements, following customer-provided instructions.
- Complete packaging assignments for orders with nonstandard requirements.
- Operate scales and other equipment required for the assigned process.
- Complete required paperwork and system entries for each product.
- Participate in cross-departmental production work based on business needs.
- Learn and uphold defined quality standards to support customer satisfaction and work efficiency.
- Work toward team and individual production targets.
- Provide complete and accurate documentation when required.
- Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors about job-related matters.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized to support safety and productivity, following Smalley’s 6S process.
- Participate in ongoing training, educational meetings, and daily communication meetings.
