About The Position

The Product Marketing Specialist is a strategic, hands-on marketing role responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies for an assigned portfolio of SCCE & HCCA programs, products, and services. Portfolios may include conferences, educational programs, membership initiatives, certification programs, publications, and other paid products. This position serves as the primary marketing contact for its assigned portfolio, with responsibility for understanding target audiences, developing effective positioning and messaging, executing integrated campaigns, and using customer insights and performance data to improve results. The Product Marketing Specialist works closely with internal stakeholders, Creative, Marketing Operations, and other members of the Marketing team to drive audience growth, engagement, and revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant marketing experience, with demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Experience developing multi-channel marketing strategies, positioning, messaging, and audience segmentation.
  • Ability to think strategically while effectively managing day-to-day campaign execution and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using campaign performance data and audience insights to make marketing decisions and improve results.
  • Experience with marketing automation, CRM, analytics, and campaign management platforms.
  • Strong project management, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across teams and with internal stakeholders.
  • Curious and action-oriented, with a willingness to test new ideas, learn from results, and adjust approaches based on audience feedback and performance.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations, asking questions, seeking feedback, and engaging with customers and audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 2–3 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated marketing strategies and campaign plans for assigned programs and products that support organizational goals, revenue targets, and audience needs.
  • Develop positioning, value propositions, messaging, audience segmentation, channel strategies, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business and program objectives into effective marketing strategies.
  • Develop scalable marketing approaches for recurring programs, applying learnings from prior campaigns to strengthen future campaigns and results.
  • Recommend marketing approaches and priorities based on customer insights, organizational objectives, revenue opportunities, and campaign performance.
  • Manage multiple concurrent campaigns and priorities across the assigned portfolio.
  • Manage marketing budgets for assigned programs and products, including allocating spend across campaigns and channels, monitoring expenditures against budget, and adjusting investments based on performance, priorities, and expected return.
  • Make data-informed recommendations regarding marketing investment, including where to increase, reduce, or reallocate spend to support registration, revenue, and audience-growth objectives.
  • Develop a strong understanding of target audiences, including their needs, interests, challenges, behaviors, and motivations.
  • Proactively engage with members, attendees, customers, prospects, and other audiences to understand what resonates, what does not, and why.
  • Gather insights from audience conversations, surveys, campaign data, event interactions, market trends, and stakeholder feedback and turn customer insights into action through stronger positioning, messaging, and marketing strategies.
  • Attend select SCCE & HCCA programs and events to engage with audiences, observe the customer experience, and gather insights that can improve marketing efforts.
  • Plan and execute integrated campaigns across email, paid search, paid and organic social, SMS, digital advertising, partner marketing, web, and other marketing channels.
  • Develop creative briefs and collaborate with Creative and Marketing Operations to deliver campaigns on schedule.
  • Manage campaigns from planning and launch through optimization and post-campaign analysis.
  • Monitor results and apply learnings across recurring campaigns to continually improve messaging, targeting, timing, channel mix, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Own marketing performance for assigned programs and products, tracking registrations, revenue, conversions, engagement, and other key performance indicators.
  • Identify opportunities for audience segmentation, lifecycle marketing, personalization, cross-promotion, and other strategies to increase engagement and conversion.
  • Use campaign performance, audience insights, and customer feedback to make informed decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Take ownership of improving performance when assigned programs are behind established goals, identifying and executing additional tactics as needed, including direct outreach to prospective attendees or customers through phone calls, email, or other appropriate channels to help drive registrations, participation, and revenue.
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for assigned programs and products, providing marketing guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations to effectively leverage CRM data, marketing automation, reporting, and campaign workflows.
  • Stay current on marketing trends, technologies, and audience behaviors and bring forward ideas to improve marketing effectiveness and results.
