Product Manager — Service of Process

ABC Legal Services
•$110,000 - $120,000•Remote

About The Position

ABC Legal Services is hiring a Product Manager to own one or more products within its Service of Process product line: the field mobile app, customer web portal, enterprise APIs, and proprietary platform for job assignment, routing, task management, and evidence chain. Reporting directly to the CSO, the Product Manager will own discovery, requirements, cross-functional coordination, launch readiness, and outcomes. The role is intended to strengthen upstream product work, including discovery, market insight, and outcome ownership. The Product Manager will work with process servers, operations teams, enterprise customers, and engineering to address the needs of a distributed field workforce, legal customers, internal operations, and jurisdiction-specific court requirements. The role also includes determining where production AI belongs in the product and defining how AI-assisted features should be measured and governed. This is a remote, full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The salary range is $110,000–$120,000, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of product management experience, including experience with at least one product spanning multiple technical surfaces, such as mobile and web or a field/consumer application backed by a core platform.
  • A demonstrated record of independently conducting discovery and translating it into shipped requirements.
  • Comfort working directly with engineering across mobile, web, and backend teams simultaneously.
  • Hands-on backlog ownership in a scaled agile environment, including writing and accepting work, running iteration planning, and participating in quarterly planning; experience with a scaled agile approach is expected.
  • Experience with B2B APIs, integrations, or platform products, including versioning, developer-facing documentation, integration partners, and enterprise technical requirements.
  • Comfort with data and ability to pull and interpret numbers independently rather than relying on an analyst.
  • Evidence of improving product practices or standards, such as introducing discovery, moving a team toward outcome accountability, or influencing peers and leaders.
  • Experience owning release quality without a dedicated QA team, including scoping tests, conducting UAT with business stakeholders, and securing testing commitments from people outside the reporting line.
  • Some go-to-market experience, including partnering on launch messaging, sales enablement, or customer rollout.
  • Experience with cross-functional sign-off or impact-review processes before release, or a clear point of view on their importance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Native mobile product experience (iOS/Android), especially applications used by a field workforce in real working conditions.
  • Experience building products for internal operators whose throughput affects the business.
  • Experience shipping AI-assisted features and a clear point of view on where automation should and should not replace human judgment.
  • Background in legal services, legal technology, process serving, litigation support, courts, or another regulated or compliance-heavy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Own the outcomes and end-to-end product direction for assigned areas of the Service of Process product line.
  • Set and defend priorities, and maintain a roadmap tied to business outcomes that is revised when evidence changes.
  • Conduct field and customer discovery, including riding along with process servers, observing operations teams and customers, and using interviews, win/loss input, support themes, and usage data.
  • Turn discovery into a written product point of view describing what to build and why, accounting for both external customers and internal operators.
  • Write requirements, including problem statements, success criteria, edge cases, and jurisdiction-specific operational and legal constraints.
  • Own the team backlog within the SAFe cadence, including features, stories, acceptance, iteration planning, and PI planning.
  • Work directly with mobile, web, and backend engineering to break work into releasable increments, unblock decisions, and make tradeoffs.
  • Own launch readiness, including rollout planning, internal enablement, support readiness, migration and backfill, and rollback planning.
  • Own release quality without a separate QA team by defining testing depth and approach and coordinating validation with business owners and operations partners.
  • Make go/no-go decisions and verify after release that the product meets requirements and achieves expected customer and operational outcomes.
  • Partner with Operations as a product customer; identify and quantify opportunities for automation, routing improvements, and decision support that reduce manual work.
  • Determine where AI belongs in the product and define accuracy thresholds, human-review paths, and failure behavior for AI-assisted features.
  • Measure AI performance against agreement with the qualified human who would otherwise make the decision, and hold AI features accountable for outcomes.
  • Define success metrics and identify dashboards before initiatives ship; access analytics and reporting directly to evaluate results.
  • Manage regulatory, evidentiary, compliance, and operational risks, including jurisdiction-specific requirements, evidence-chain integrity, proof-of-service standards, and sensitive data handling.
  • Ensure product changes complete appropriate cross-functional review before release.
