Product Manager, New Verticals

Bounce•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Bounce is hiring a Senior Product Manager, New Verticals, reporting directly to the CPO. The role is focused on identifying and building Bounce’s next business opportunity, with delivery as the current frontier. The Product Manager will define what delivery should mean for Bounce, validate the opportunity with real users in real cities, and scale successful approaches. This is a hands-on 0-to-1 role covering research, strategy, product development, launch, and iteration. The role requires deep engagement with travelers, hosts, and city teams; independently investigating user behavior; forming hypotheses; running experiments; and using evidence to decide whether to stop, iterate, or scale. The Product Manager will shape the delivery product end to end, including discovery, acquisition, user flows, pricing, and retention; launch pilots in cities; define and monitor success metrics; and collaborate closely with design, engineering, data, operations, growth, and partnerships. Regular travel to cities, locations, and users is part of the role. The company describes its working style as collaborative and execution-oriented: product managers work alongside cross-functional partners rather than handing off tasks. Year-one success includes growing delivery by 300% in six months, anticipating and resolving operational issues at scale, and being recognized by partners for improving their work.

Requirements

  • Experience taking products from zero to real users, then scaling or stopping them based on evidence.
  • Experience using AI in a real job, including running analysis with LLMs.
  • Strong hands-on operating skills, including working directly with data, product flows, user calls, and operational realities.
  • Deep understanding of user behavior and the ability to explain why users engage, drop off, or leave.
  • Ability to read funnels, identify unusual metrics, form hypotheses, and determine what to investigate next.
  • Concise written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to investigate problems in depth from user, data, and operational perspectives.
  • Collaborative approach with design, engineering, data, and operations partners.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to turn it into plans, test those plans, and adjust based on evidence.
  • Fluency in experimentation, including A/B tests, pilots, and qualitative research, and ability to choose an appropriate method.
  • Commercial judgment and attention to unit economics, acquisition costs, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Ability to travel regularly and on short notice.
  • Willingness to conduct user research personally rather than delegating it.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the delivery product end to end, including discovery, acquisition, user flows, pricing, and retention.
  • Conduct regular user research with travelers, hosts, and operators to understand behavior before building.
  • Translate research and other signals into hypotheses, MVPs, and experiments.
  • Launch pilots in real cities and use evidence to decide whether to kill, scale, or iterate.
  • Define success metrics for each product bet and hold the team accountable to them.
  • Partner with design, engineering, data, operations, growth, and partnerships.
  • Travel to cities, locations, and users to learn in person.
  • Use funnel analysis and experimentation to identify and address product and operational issues.
  • Help grow Bounce’s delivery business, with a stated year-one success target of 300% growth in six months.
