About The Position

OpenAI is hiring senior product marketing leads for Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Financial Services. The role includes choosing priority segments and use cases, defining positioning, bringing customer and market evidence into product and go-to-market decisions, building executive customer relationships, and aligning cross-functional teams around a focused plan. The successful candidate will set long-term direction, influence consequential decisions, and build programs and customer evidence that support customer trust, adoption, and business growth. The position is based in San Francisco, California, with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office per week. Occasional travel is required, and relocation assistance is offered to new employees.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience leading product marketing, industry strategy, or enterprise go-to-market work at significant scale, with a track record of shaping strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in Financial Services, Healthcare, or Life Sciences, including how organizations buy and adopt technology, manage risk, and measure value.
  • Credibility to advise C-suite customers and judgment to challenge assumptions respectfully.
  • Ability to influence consequential decisions across senior technical and commercial leaders without relying on formal authority.
  • Understanding of complex enterprise technology and ability to translate it into clear positioning and compelling narratives without overstating its capabilities.
  • Ability to combine strategic judgment with hands-on execution, including setting direction, writing initial drafts, and following through across launches, customer programs, and field enablement.
  • Ability to use customer evidence, product usage, and market insight to make decisions and adapt in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong writing and editorial judgment, technical curiosity, and commitment to helping organizations adopt AI safely and responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the market, choose priority segments and use cases, and define an industry growth strategy, including areas that will not be prioritized.
  • Bring customer needs, market evidence, and competitive insight to Product, Research, and go-to-market leaders; make recommendations and work through tradeoffs.
  • Build relationships with senior business and technical customer leaders, discussing their priorities, AI opportunities, adoption barriers, and measures of success.
  • Define industry positioning that reflects differentiated value, customer realities, and the capabilities and limitations of OpenAI products.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to document credible outcomes and return on investment, understand successful adoption, and develop repeatable use cases.
  • Align Product, Sales, Solutions, Partnerships, Marketing, and Customer Success around priorities and outcomes; translate strategy into launches, executive programs, campaigns, and field enablement.
  • Partner with Policy, Legal, and Communications on accurate claims and responsible customer-facing guidance in regulated, high-trust industries.
  • Set measures tied to adoption, pipeline contribution, and market growth; evaluate performance with go-to-market partners and adjust priorities and investment as evidence changes.
