Product Marketing Lead

Comfy•San Francisco, CA
•$200,000 - $280,000•Onsite

About The Position

Comfy is hiring a Product Marketing Lead to define how customers understand its visual AI workflow platform. The role owns positioning, messaging, and launches across ComfyUI, Comfy Desktop, Comfy Cloud, Comfy API, Comfy Router, Workshop, Comfy Agent, and Team and Enterprise plans. This is a 0-to-1 position: the person will build the messaging framework, launch process, and competitive playbook while remaining hands-on in writing and executing marketing work. The role reports directly to CEO Yoland and works closely with product, creative, community, and sales teams. The team is based in San Francisco, and the role requires being based there or being willing to relocate for its in-person team. The Product Marketing Lead will create distinct, connected stories for individual creators and power users, developers, and studio and brand buyers in film, VFX, games, and advertising. They will clarify how users can move from free ComfyUI through Partner Nodes, Cloud, the API, and Enterprise, and collaborate on presenting subscriptions, credits, and plans simply and fairly. Success is measured through outcomes such as signups, activation, paid conversion, and pipeline. Comfy describes itself as an AI creation engine for visual professionals who want control over models, parameters, and outputs. Its canvas-based workflow lets users connect models, processing steps, and outputs, with each decision visible and inspectable. The open-source project began in 2023 and has 4 million users, more than 60,000 community-built nodes, and more than 150,000 daily downloads. The company is a small, in-person San Francisco team whose members come from Stability AI and Google, and it recently raised $30 million at a $500 million valuation.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of product marketing experience, including end-to-end launch ownership at a product-led, developer-tools, or creator-tools company, with results to show.
  • Experience building product marketing from 0 to 1, such as a positioning framework, launch process, or PMM function.
  • Ability to write clear, competitive positioning, from a concise tagline through an enterprise narrative.
  • Experience marketing to both individual users and enterprise buyers; usage-based or credit-based pricing experience is ideal.
  • Hands-on approach to shipping messaging and assets.
  • Ability to interpret adoption, activation, and conversion funnels.
  • First-principles approach, high agency, and low ego.
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate to join the in-person team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience marketing an open-source or open-core product and growing a business while retaining its community.

  • Experience using Comfy or genuine familiarity with AI creative tools.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain positioning and messaging across self-hosted ComfyUI, the Developer Platform, Agent, and Enterprise as the product evolves.
  • Own end-to-end launch planning for model, product, and platform releases, including narratives, assets, sequencing, and stakeholders; build a repeatable launch playbook.
  • Explain the customer path from free ComfyUI to Partner Nodes, Cloud, the API, and Enterprise, and package each offering so it is easy to understand and buy.
  • Track the visual AI landscape; position Comfy’s control-and-craft advantages against prompt-box tools and model platforms; own competitive comparisons and battlecards.
  • Equip Enterprise sales, Forward Deployed Creatives, and the community team with messaging, pitch narratives, case studies, and enablement.
  • Develop audience-specific messaging for creatives and power users, developers, and studio and brand buyers in film, VFX, games, and advertising.
  • Partner with product and go-to-market teams on how subscriptions, credits, and plans are presented.
  • Measure launch and messaging impact on signups, activation, paid conversion, and pipeline, and stop or change what is not working.
