About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

The position also supports daily club standards, including keeping merchandise stocked, accurately signed, clean, and organized. Team members are expected to work collaboratively, follow club policies and procedures, act with honesty and integrity, maintain a friendly and positive attitude, and help provide a safe and positive experience for members.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; lifting or moving heavier or awkward objects may be required with assistance.
• Move frequently on hard surfaces and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping members find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products unsuitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back-stock items and keeping the storage area organized and condensed daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate signage for produce goods, perform price checks when necessary, and ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support their application and compliance.
• Work in other departments as needed and perform other assigned duties.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
