Produce Clerk Full Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment, assists Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The position supports club policies, procedures, and compliance; contributes to a safe, positive, inclusive environment; and works with the team to maintain daily GOLD Member and Club Standards. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function. Other duties may be assigned, including work in other departments as needed.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
- Ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; heavier and/or awkward objects over 50 pounds may need to be moved with assistance.
- Ability to frequently move about on hard surfaces and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Responsibilities
- Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe-handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring received items meet or exceed company standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove items unsuitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the storage area daily.
- Follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
- Generate signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and contribute to daily GOLD Member and Club Standards.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
