Produce Clerk Full Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment, assists members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk inspects and rotates deliveries and sales-floor stock, keeps displays and reserve storage clean and organized, removes unsuitable products, and follows procedures for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired items. The role also helps with inventory and order processing, cleans and sanitizes produce equipment and areas, and prepares accurate signage and pricing. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Responsibilities
- Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe-handling tips, and helping them find products.
- Inspect, rotate, and store produce deliveries; ensure received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotate sales-floor produce to maintain freshness and variety, keep cases and displays stocked and neat, and remove products that are no longer suitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and keeping the area organized and condensed daily.
- Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, and expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, the produce cooler, refrigerated display cases, and related areas.
- Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and carry out assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
- Provide service excellence, address and deescalate member concerns, and contribute to a safe and positive environment.
- Work with the team to maintain club standards, including stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and keeping areas clean and organized.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
