About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting members with product knowledge and customer service and ensuring produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

The clerk helps deliver the club’s service and quality standards by keeping produce displays stocked, fresh, clean, accurately signed, and organized. The position also supports inventory and order processing, maintains produce storage areas and equipment, follows club policies and safe disposal guidelines, and may perform duties in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

• Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds; heavier or awkward objects over 50 pounds may need to be lifted and moved with assistance.
• Frequent movement and positioning on hard surfaces, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring received products meet or exceed company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays fully stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and keeping the storage area organized and condensed daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate signage for produce goods and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Support club standards through teamwork, accurate signage, stocked items, executed promotional plans, and clean, organized spaces.
• Deliver member service, address and deescalate concerns, and contribute to a safe and positive environment.
