About The Position
Maintain and operate the produce department by trimming and preparing merchandise according to company and department standards, and help ensure the work shift contributes to the store’s financial interests. Complete other assigned duties in a timely manner. The role may include tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of retail or related experience preferred.
- Must be able to work with fresh fruits and vegetables without negative allergic consequences that adversely affect the ability to perform.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities
- Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed, following established procedures for culling, trimming, and storing products.
- Weigh, package, and label products.
- Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
- Fill, rotate, and merchandise produce and floral shelves, cases, and displays; assist with unloading deliveries and stacking products in coolers.
- Notify the Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
- Use suggestive selling techniques with customers.
- Maintain familiarity with department products, including differences in price, taste, preparation, and use.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked departments.
- Follow PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines.
- Perform tasks in other departments when assigned based on customer experience needs.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
