About The Position

The Produce Assistant Department Manager is a full-time position at the Lititz Pike Fresh Foods location, paying $21.00 an hour. The role requires flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Working as a hands-on manager, the employee supports the smooth operation of the department and is prepared to assume the Department Manager’s responsibilities when needed. The company offers on-the-job training and leadership classes and promotes team members from within.

Responsibilities

Develop merchandising game plans and plan-o-grams in conjunction with the Buying team.
Supervise and perform departmental inventories to ensure they are accurate and thorough.
Train team members on store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties so they work productively and safely.
Assign team member duties and schedule breaks, work hours, and vacations according to business needs and upcoming store events.
Understand retail label systems and communicate with Scan, General Management, and/or Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
Assume the Department Manager’s responsibilities when necessary.
Communicate with Buying and General Management teams about merchandising, new product implementation, and appropriate pricing, and promptly follow through on directions.
Coordinate vendor invoices, SKH invoices, and inter-company transfers daily to ensure timely billing.
Perform the tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the division as a working manager.
Use knowledge of current inventories and ordering systems to assist with ordering supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
Maintain and operate departmental equipment.
