About The Position

The Procedure Scheduler supports patient care and clinical operations for a gastroenterology team in East Mesa, Arizona. The role coordinates routine and complex endoscopic procedures, surgeries, and related pre- and post-operative services, helping patients understand scheduling and preparation requirements and working with providers and surgical facilities to keep care organized. The position is full-time and in-person, with pay of $18.00–$22.00 per hour depending on experience. The scheduler works in a supportive, collaborative healthcare environment and helps maintain timely, coordinated care through accurate documentation, schedule monitoring, patient communication, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

Schedule routine and complex endoscopic procedures, surgeries, and related pre- and post-operative services according to physician orders.
Communicate procedure preparation instructions, scheduling details, and follow-up requirements to patients and their families.
Provide accurate information about insurance requirements and patient financial responsibilities when applicable.
Coordinate procedures and secure appropriate surgical block times in collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, hospitals, and surgical centers.
Submit, track, and coordinate physician orders and required documentation with affiliated endoscopy units and surgical facilities.
Monitor procedure schedules and address conflicts, delays, cancellations, and changes proactively.
Respond professionally to patient and provider scheduling inquiries, identify potential issues, and escalate complex concerns with recommended solutions.
Protect patient information in compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies.
Assist with administrative responsibilities and other operational tasks to support an efficient, patient-focused environment.
