About The Position

Follows established policies and procedures while gathering and recording all necessary information to schedule procedures and generate hospital accounts. Reviews and analyzes orders to ensure patients are optimized to proceed with needed procedures, and accurately schedules highly complex invasive cases and appointments across multiple applications within EPIC. Educates offices, surgeons, and other support staff on accurately completing case requests and managing block time. Ensures scheduled procedures have appropriate insurance to help protect patients from unanticipated financial impacts. Supports patient safety and quality outcomes by confirming surgical credentialing aligns with the procedure being scheduled. Adheres to CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when creating hospital accounts and performs job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

• High school graduate, GED, or three years of relevant experience.
• Two years of experience or equivalent in scheduling, registration, and/or insurance verification in a healthcare setting.
