About The Position

Musicologie Prosper is seeking an accomplished, energetic violin teacher to provide private lessons to beginner through advanced students of all ages and abilities. The studio primarily offers in-person lessons; online lessons are available by exception. The teacher will help students identify their goals and progress through relevant curriculum, encourage participation in performances and group classes, and contribute to a supportive community of musicians. This role may suit someone already teaching, working with a school orchestra, or performing professionally who wants to add teaching hours. The position offers flexible part-time teaching opportunities, with most hours after school, in the evenings, and on weekends. The studio provides support with enrollment, scheduling, and billing, as well as access to teacher certification and education, free lessons for the teacher, and one free lesson for a family member.

Requirements

• Excellent violinist with experience teaching violin to students of different ages and skill levels.
• Bachelor's degree in violin performance or music education, or equivalent experience.
• Strong in-person and email communication skills.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Able to work evening and/or weekend hours.
• Enthusiastic about helping students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching viola, cello, or double bass.
• Experience working with children and families; early childhood experience with children under 5 is a plus.
• Curiosity and inspiration to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow Musicologie's educational philosophy, curriculum, and processes.
• Deliver an outstanding lesson experience to each student and family.
• Teach violin students of all ages and abilities and support their musical goals and progress.
• Encourage community involvement through performances and group classes.
• Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to improve teaching capabilities.
