About The Position

Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable violin and viola instructor for its Lancaster studio. The teacher will provide private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels, build supportive student relationships, and help learners develop musical confidence, skill, and creativity in a welcoming, organized, education-focused environment.

Availability is needed for either one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or one recurring four-hour block on Saturdays. The school provides established marketing and enrollment systems, administrative support for scheduling and billing, private teaching studios, on-site support from a Studio Coordinator, and student recital and performance opportunities. Employment is at will.

Requirements

• Have a strong musical background demonstrated by at least two years of college-level music training, five years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Successfully complete an initial background check and recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication.
• Be confident and effective in delivering one-on-one instruction.
• Have strong organization and time-management skills.
• Be comfortable using a digital scheduling system.
• Bring a warm, energetic, and professional presence.
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.

• Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records using the digital scheduling system.
