About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a skilled musician and educator to teach violin and viola lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment and helps students develop their musical abilities. The role includes communicating regularly with students and parents, setting goals, and sharing progress updates. The teacher also works with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching and inspiring students.

The listed pay is $17.13 per hour for non-teaching work and $10–$20 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. Music & Arts offers gig leave for musician employees, a 401(k) with company match, an employee discount program, and other benefits and perks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience, especially with violin and viola.

Nice To Haves

• Further teaching experience with related instruments.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
