Violin/Viola Teacher (Store #3905)
About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking a skilled musician and educator to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of different ages and skill levels; communicates regularly with students and parents about goals and progress; and works with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The posting lists a non-teaching rate of $15.16 per hour and a teaching rate of $10–$20 per hour depending on background and experience. Eligible musician employees may take gig leave to perform and return to their jobs afterward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of music teaching experience; the minimum-requirements section specifically says “especially with trumpet.”
Nice To Haves
- Further teaching experience with related instruments.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
Responsibilities
