About The Position

Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable violin instructor for its Harrisburg studio. The instructor teaches private lessons to students of varied ages and skill levels in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment. The role involves building strong student relationships, creating engaging personalized lessons, supporting musical development, and preparing students for recitals and other performance opportunities.

The studio provides established marketing and enrollment systems, administrative support for scheduling and billing, private teaching studios, on-site support from a Studio Coordinator, and a professional, education-focused environment. Availability is needed for one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or one recurring four-hour block on Saturdays.

Requirements

• Have a strong musical background demonstrated by at least two years of college-level music training, five years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Successfully complete an initial background check and recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication.
• Be confident and effective in delivering one-on-one instruction.
• Have strong organization and time-management skills.
• Be comfortable using a digital scheduling system.
• Bring a warm, energetic, and professional presence.
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels.
• Be available for one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or one recurring four-hour block on Saturdays.

• A bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply.
