About The Position

Musicologie Lakeway is seeking a part-time violin teacher to teach students of all ages and skill levels. The studio opened in November 2025 and is growing. Teachers focus on instruction while the studio handles enrollment, scheduling, billing, and parent logistics. The role includes private lessons, occasional group classes, and helping students prepare for recitals. Teachers work with other instructors and the studio manager.

The position offers hourly W-2 employment, with starting pay in the $30s based on experience. The studio provides paid training in the Musicologie Method, a shared teaching philosophy centered on play and a supportive environment while allowing flexibility in teaching style. A certification program offers paths for professional growth, and teachers receive free lessons from other Musicologie instructors.

Requirements

• A degree in violin or equivalent experience.
• Experience teaching violin, including teaching children.
• Availability on weekday afternoons or evenings and/or weekends.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
• A belief that lessons should be fun, encouraging, and a safe place to make mistakes.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to teach viola, cello, and/or bass.

Responsibilities

• Teach private violin lessons lasting 30, 45, or 60 minutes to children and adults at all levels.
