About The Position

Musicologie Clayton is seeking a private music teacher for its location, which is coming early 2027. The teacher will work with students of all ages and abilities, help them identify musical goals, and guide their progress through relevant curriculum. The role involves encouraging students’ musical development and community involvement through performances and group classes.

Teachers are expected to learn and follow Musicologie’s education philosophy, curriculum, and processes, and deliver an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family. The organization describes its approach as community-focused, with a teaching method rooted in safe environments and education through play, training and shadowing, opportunities for upward mobility, innovative programs and technology, and collaboration among teachers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the teacher’s instrument, or equivalent experience.
• Teaching experience on the teacher’s instrument.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Excellent musicianship.
• Strong in-person and email communication skills.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Able to work evening hours.
• Excited to help students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
• Curious and inspired to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow Musicologie’s philosophy of education, curriculum, and processes.
• Deliver an outstanding lesson experience to every family and student.
• Help students of all ages and abilities identify their goals and progress through curriculum related to those goals.
• Encourage community involvement through performances and group classes.
• Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to elevate everyone’s capabilities.
