About The Position

Bach to Rock is seeking a part-time Music Teacher to provide music and performance lessons to students of all ages. Teachers use the B2R curriculum, music students know and love, and cover song arrangements to teach music theory and technique. The role helps students develop as musicians who enjoy performing, recording in the studio, and composing original music. The teacher may provide private, semi-private, and/or group lessons, create a fun and focused learning atmosphere, and assess students’ readiness to join a band or ensemble. Teachers may also assist at school events and repair equipment as needed and able. The school handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects so teachers can focus on instruction. The position offers a flexible part-time schedule in a music-focused environment.

Requirements

Demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and communicate those concepts effectively to students.
Have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
Have effective time-management and organizational skills to keep students on task during lessons.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities.
Be an experienced solo or group performer.
Have experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians.
Be able to interact effectively with children ages 3–17 and adults.
Be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities
