About The Position

Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable violin instructor for its Harrisburg studio. The teacher will provide personalized private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment. The role includes helping students develop their musical skills and confidence, preparing them for recitals and other performance opportunities, and communicating professionally with students, parents, and staff. Scheduling, billing, and studio logistics are supported by the organization. Availability is needed for one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or one recurring four-hour block on Saturdays. Candidates should have a strong musical background, effective one-on-one teaching skills, and a warm, patient, professional presence. A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred, and candidates currently pursuing a degree are encouraged to apply. Employment is at will and requires successful initial and recurring background checks.

Requirements

A strong musical background demonstrated by at least two years of college-level music training, five years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination.
Ability to complete an initial background check and recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication.
Confidence and effectiveness in delivering one-on-one instruction.
Excellent organization and time management.
Comfort using a digital scheduling system.
Patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels.
A warm, energetic, professional, encouraging, and student-focused presence.
Availability for one weeknight from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM or one recurring four-hour block on Saturdays.

Nice To Haves
